(1) Opinion 의견  Westerners: Talk to the point 서양사람들: 말하려는 요점만 말한다. Asians: Talk around the circle, especially if opinions are different 동양 사람들:특히 의견이 상반될 때 그저 이리 저리 삥삥 둘러 된다. (2) Way of Life 사는 방식  Westerners: individualism, think of himself or herself. 서양사람들: 개인주이, 자신들만 생각한다. Asians: enjoy gathering with family and friends, solving their problems, and know each others' business. 동양사 람들: 가족모임을 즐기며 문제를 같이 해결하고, 서로의 문제를 잘 알고 지낸다. (3) Punctuality 시간 엄수  Westerners: on time. 서양사람들: 정시에 Asians: in time. 동양사람들: 조만간에 (4) Contacts 인간 관계  Westerners: Contact to related person only . 서양사람들: 관련된 사람들과만 접촉 Asians: Contact everyone everywhere, business very successful. 동양사람들: 어디에서든지 모든 주변사람들과 첩촉해서 사업 잘한다. (5) Anger 분노  Westerners: Show that I am angry. 서양사람들: 화가 나있는 것을 알린다. Asians: I am angry, but still smiling... (Beware!) 동양사람들: 화가 나 있어도 여전히 웃음짓고 있다 ...(조심해라!) (6) Queue when Waiting 차례를 기다리는 줄  Westerners: Queuing in an orderly manner . 서양사람들: 질서 정연히 줄선다. Asians: Queuing?! What's that? 동양사람들: 줄서?! 그게 당체 뭐람? (7) Sundays on the Road 일요일 행차  Westerners: Enjoy weekend relaxing peacefully. 서양사람들: 주말을 평화롭게 긴장풀며 즐긴다. Asians: Enjoy weekend in crowded places, like going to the mall. 동양사람들: 마치 백화점에 가듯이 사람들이 북석이는 곳을 �아 가 주말을 즐긴다. (8) Party 연회  Westerners: Only gather with their own group. 서양사람들: 자기가 속하는 사람들과만 만난다. Asians: All focus on the one activity that is hosted by the CEO. 동양사람들: 최고 경영 책임자가 주최하는 한 행사에만 모두 초점을 둔다. (9) In the restaurant 음식점에서  Westerners: Talk softly and gently in the restaurant.
서양사람들: 음식점에선 조용하고 상냥히 회화한다. Asians: Talk and laugh loudly like they own the restaurant. 동양사람들: 마치 자기네가 음식점을 소유하고 있은 양 소리 크게 내어 말하고 웃는다. (10) Traveling 여행  Westerners: Love sightseeing and enjoy the scenery. 서양사람들: 관광을 좋아하여 경치를 즐긴다. Asians: Taking picture is the most important, scenery is just for the background. 동양사람들: 사진찍기가 제일 중요사며 경치는 그저 배경일 뿐이다. (11) Handling of Problems 문제 다루기  Westerners: Take any steps to solve the problems. 서양사람들: 문제들을 해결키 위해 선 어느 조치도 취한다. Asians: Try to avoid conflicts, and if can, don't leave any trail. 동양사람들: 논쟁을 피하려 하며 가능한한 아무 자취도 남겨 놓치 않으려 든다. (12) Three meals a day 세끼의 음식  Westerners: Good meal for once a day is sufficed. 서양사람들: 하루에 한끼 잘 먹는 것으로 족한다. Asians: At least 3 good meals a day. 동양사람들: 하루에 최소한 세끼는 먹어야 한다. (13) Transportation 운송 차량  Westerners: Before drove cars, now cycling for environmental protection. 서양사람들: 예전엔 차를 탓지만 지금은 환경보호를 고려해서 자전거를 ... Asians: Before no money and rode a bike, now got money and drive a car. 동양사람들: 전엔 돈 없어 자전거 탓으나 이제는 돈 생겨 차를 몬다. (14) Elderly in day-to-day life 노인장들의 일상생활  When old, there is snoopy for companionship.
서양사람들: 늙으면 동반자 할 개새끼가 있다. Asians: When old, guarantee will not be lonely, as long as willing to babysit grand kids. 동양사람들: 늙으면 손자손녀 맡아 보기를 마다 않는 한 외로울 여지 전혀 없다. (15) Moods and Weather 기후와 기분  Westerners: The logic is: rain is pain. 서양사람들: 비내리는 것은 골치거리다는 게 논리다. Asians: More rain, more prosperity. 동양사람들: 비 많이 오면 그 만치 더 번창하지. (16) The Boss 상사  Westerners: The boss is part of the team. 서양사람들: 상사는 팀 의 하나다. Asians: The boss is a fierce god. 동양사람들: 상사는 무서운 신이다. (17) What's Trendy 첨단을 가는 유행  Westerners: Eat healthy Asian cuisine. 서양사람들: 건강에 좋은 동양식 요리를 먹는다. Asians: Eat expensive Western cuisine. 동양사람들: 비싼 서구식 요리를 먹는다. (18) The Child 자녀  Westerners: The kid is going to be independent and make his/her own living. 서양사람들: 애들은 독립정신이 있어 자신들의 생계를 꾸려 갈 것이다. Asians: Slog whole life for the kids, the center of your life. 동양사람들: 애들은 우 리 삶의 중심으로 그 들을 위해서 전 생애를 악착같이 살아야 한다 |
